Watch Strap and Bracelet Replacement in Delhi

Straps are the part of a watch that wears out fastest, and spring bars fail before the strap does. We fit leather, steel bracelets, rubber and NATO, sized to your lug width and your wrist, across Delhi-NCR.

Leather, metal, rubber or NATO

Leather is comfortable and dresses a watch up, but Delhi heat and sweat shorten its life. A metal bracelet lasts longest and suits a heavy case, though it needs the end-links to match the lugs exactly or it will sit with a gap. Rubber handles water, gym use and summer well, and it wipes clean. A NATO passes under the case back, so if one spring bar lets go the watch stays on the wrist. Each has a trade-off. Tell us how you wear the watch and we will point you at the right one.

Lug width decides the fit

The gap between the lugs is measured in millimetres, and it is not a place to round off. A strap a millimetre narrow rocks side to side and wears the spring bar holes. A millimetre wide will not seat at all, or it forces the lugs. We measure the case rather than trust a listing. Curved end pieces matter too. Some cases need a strap that curves into the lug, and a straight one leaves a visible gap. Strap width tapers from the lug end, so the pin buckle or deployant has to match that taper.

Spring bars and bracelet sizing

Most watches that hit the floor were not dropped. A spring bar gave way. They are thin, they corrode from sweat, and the tips lose tension long before anything looks wrong. We renew spring bars with every strap we fit, and we will change them on their own if that is all you need. For bracelets, we size by removing or adding links and setting the clasp, then check the fit on the wrist so it sits just above the wrist bone. Screwed links, pin and collar links and friction pins each need the right tool.

Questions

About strap & bracelet replacement

Can I bring my own strap for fitting?

Yes, bring it in. We will check the lug width and the curve of the end before fitting, and say so if it is the wrong size rather than force it. We fit new spring bars either way, because old ones are the usual reason a watch ends up on the floor.

How do I know my lug width?

Measure the gap between the lugs with the strap off, in millimetres, at the point where the spring bar sits. Even sizes are common, odd sizes happen on vintage cases. If you would rather not, bring the watch to the workshop in South Delhi and we will measure it at the bench.

Do you remove bracelet links and keep them?

We do. Links come out from the marked side with the right tool, never punched through. The pieces we take out are handed back to you in a bag, along with the pins or screws, so the bracelet can be let out again later if your wrist changes or the watch passes to someone else.
